Baxter's Representative Office in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, was set up in 2004 and serves about 680 end stage renal disease (ESRD) patients. The company has contributed much to enhance patients' access to peritoneal dialysis (PD) in the country, including those living outside the big cities, and easing large hospitals' patient load in this area. Baxter has also developed an effective infection control program to reduce hospital infections, and is working with Vietnam's healthcare stakeholders to build a standardized therapy policy guideline to improve therapy quality and increase access to therapy centers in key hospitals.

When it comes to working with the community, Baxter Vietnam surpassed the standard set by employees themselves. Their target was to fulfill 55 hours in 2007 but ended up logging more than 270 hours.
