BUMINATE is human serum albumin, an essential protein responsible for maintenance of plasma colloid osmotic pressure and transporting drugs and other molecules through the plasma. BUMINATE albumin is proven effective for use as a volume expander in treatment of hypovolemia, certain edematous states, thermal injuries and as an adjunct to cardiopulmonary surgery. Albumin has been safely used as a therapeutic agent for almost 50 years and has one of the longest safety records of any plasma derivative. It is better tolerated than non-protein or synthetic colloids.
